Student Condominium Market Trends
The Student Condominium Market at BYU is in good supply. Currently there are 73 properties listed on the market as
"BYU approved" for student off-campus housing.
Fifty-eight of these properties
are condos for sale. Ten are
townhouses for sale. Five are
single family homes for sale.
Prices range from $121,900 for
two bedrooms and one bath to
$191,900 for three bedrooms and
three baths. Parents who contemplate investing in their students
housing while at the same time investing
in the real estate market have a good selection
to choose from.
Currently seven "BYU approved"
properties are under contract.
Fifty nine properties have sold
in the past 12 months. Prices
for sold condos ranged from a
low of $99,000 for 600 square
feet to $205,900 for 1,215
Average rents are $281 to $182 for shared rooms and $325 to $228 for private rooms.
The BYU housing office assist condos owners with
finding student renters. BYU has a student
population of around 30,000.
Real estate has been a good long-term investment. A study of
BYU Condominium prices for more than a decade shows that holding BYU condo properties for the long term
can be a wise investment. Parents of students who need to provide housing
for their students while attending college can pay for their students housing
while also investing. Student roommates can reduce
